Intel has unveiled the Intel 3 Series Chipset family to
bolster its
Intel Core 2 Duo and
Quad processor offerings.
Designed for both businesses and consumers, the chipsets will
support improved graphics and video and enhanced data storage
capabilities, said Intel.
The chipsets will be used with the company’s upcoming Intel 45
nanometer “Penryn family” processors, expected later this year.
More than 100 motherboard designs will be offered around the
Intel 3 Series.
Intel also plans to launch a new
Intel Core 2 Extreme mobile processor in the third quarter of
this year.
