General Electric (GE) has signed an agreement
to install
Sophos security software on 350,000 laptops, desktops and
servers throughout the world and within every division of the
company.
Sophos will provide
centrally-managed
Network Access Control (NAC), anti-virus and firewall
protection to GE.
Other Sophos users
include Heinz and Daimler Chrysler.
This March, food
manufacturer Heinz became one of the first companies to deploy
dedicated security hardware from Sophos designed to protect thin
client desktop terminals with web browsers.
It has installed
the WS1000 gateway appliance from Sophos at its Portsmouth
datacentre to provide 5,000 staff working on its European wide area
network with secure internet access.
