Google and Salesforce.com are reportedly planning an
alliance to combine their web productivity and customer
relationship management systems.
The
New York Times reports the two firm are still
working out details of a potential partnership, which could
be announced in the next few weeks.
Citing unamed sources, the NY Times said a web-based offering to
customers could integrate Google online services such as e-mail and
instant messaging with Salesforce’s CRM technology.
Google and Salesforce.com have not so far confirmed the reported
collaboration, although as many executives already
use consumer-based tools like instant messaging, the product
integration would not exactly be leftfield.
