iServer: A Repository for MS Office and Visio users

The iServer Publisher allows any user to collaborate on HTML versionsof business models without the need for specialist training, access to Visio or Office, and at a relatively lowcost. The shared repository for Visio and Office ‘objects’ enables the enforcement of standards, versioncontrol, impact analysis, and reuse at the shape or document-component level. iServer offers highly cost-effective,new model development with the adoption and reuse of existing models created using familiarMicrosoft products, and this reduces training needs. iServer combines and extends the functions of Visio,SQL Server and an Internet browser, also utilising the document management capabilities of MicrosoftSharePoint to enable collaboration and control synchronisation.

The Orbus approach is distinctly differentfrom other proprietary tools in that it allows organisations to exploit investment in existing technologies, whilstdelivering functionality that would normally be found in high-end modelling products.
