The specialist fabric retailer Fabric Warehouse has
selected a new
electronic data interchange (EDI) system to improve its
operations.
The retailer has selected
Spectrum 3 EDI software from Freeway Commerce to exchange
invoices and orders with its suppliers in the UK and abroad.
The decision was made as part of an overall IT strategy to adopt
EDI as a method of exchanging information for all trading partners.
Freeway Commerce’s solution was selected for its ability to
integrate with differing communications technologies.
Fabric Warehouse expects to achieve improved margins and
increased efficiencies in the supply chain, as a result of adopting
EDI.
Spectrum 3 integrates with Fabric Warehouse’s back office
systems, including finance, human resources, payroll, point of sale
and merchandising systems based on Dynamics NAV, part of the
Microsoft Dynamics suite.
Glenn Aungles, finance director at Fabric Warehouse, said,
“Freeway’s simple commercial model and the ability to connect with
our trading community whatever their technology made this a
straightforward decision. In particular the low cost web portal
included as part of the package made it an extremely attractive
solution.”
He said, “Freeway Commerce is actively working with us to
provide excellent support to our suppliers. With the system in
place it will help us to significantly improve efficiencies in our
supply chain.”
