Microsoft is today distributing seven security patches to tackle vulnerabilities in a number of its products.

The patches are part of the manufacturer’s monthly patching cycle and address problems in the Windows operating system, the Office productivity suite, the Exchange e-mail server, and the Capicom and Biztalk products.

There are two Windows patches, three for Office, one for Exchange and one for Capicom/Biztalk.

Most of the patches are “critical” and are designed to prevent attackers from remotely taking over users’ systems.

Microsoft is also distributing seven non-security related “high priority” updates, mainly for Windows.
