Betting group The Tote has built a service oriented
architecture to present information about potential winnings to
customers more quickly and cheaply.
The Tote, which takes pool bets on horse racing from 59
racecourses, 540 betting shops and websites, is using the SOA to
speed up the collation of data across these channels.
The system, which is based on
SonicESB from ProgressSoftware, runs on a SQL
Server 2005 database and Windows 2003.
