UK employers are finding it easier to hire staff with
the right IT background, resulting in a two-year low for figures on
skills shortages, according to e-skills
UK.
Just 6% of IT employers questioned said they were experiencing
difficulties in finding workers with the right IT skills,
qualifications or experience in the third quarter of 2006 – the
second lowest figure in two years.
However, businesses are still concerned about the lack of
personal and communication skills exhibited by candidates applying
for IT jobs.
Nearly a third of IT recruiters surveyed by e-skills UK said the
level of personal skills on offer from
candidates was below that required by their business.
