UK firms think security is not keeping up with VoIP and IM

A survey by Infosecurity Europe of 291 companies has found that 93% believe security is not keeping pace with the demands posed by instant messaging (IM) and its usage.

Interviews with 20 chief security officers (CSOs) of large enterprises found widespread concern that since IM allows encrypted data traffic it could be an undetectable source of data leakage.

And the view on VoIP technology is that, although there has been some adoption, it is not yet widely deployed in corporates but raises similar security issues relating to encrypted traffic.
