Six NHS trusts in the Manchester area have gone live
with a timesheet system from Smart covering 20,000
staff.
Bolton, Salford and Trafford Mental Health NHS Trust; Stockport
NHS Foundation Trust; Salford Royal Hospital NHS Trust; South
Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust; Christie Hospital NHS
Trust; and Manchester Primary Care Trust have all implemented
Smart Timesheet.
The system enables secure entry of timesheet data for approval
and submission to the national Electronic Staff Records (ESR)
payroll system, which has also been implemented in all six
trusts.
Using Microsoft .net and SQL Server technology, Smart Timesheet
enables optimised deployment across each trust’s intranet, removing
the need for a desktop installed application.
Using a secure login, administrators are presented with a
simplified view of a list of staff and the appropriate payroll
elements that need to be keyed in.
Once the data is entered, it is electronically approved by the
line manager responsible for the appropriate staff groups. A key
benefit is that the information can go through a second level of
approval before being posted into the ESR payroll system.
