IBM has opened three newbanking centres of excellence
(BCOEs)to help financial services clients
modernise ageing computing systems.
The centres are housed at sites in Silicon Valley, New York
state and Seoul, and customers can access them directly or
virtually.
IBM said the BCOEs will work with banks to help design and
implement next generation back office systems, transforming their
legacy application software to flexible, open standards-based core
banking and payments solutions.
As a result, said IBM, banks can more quickly adjust to shifting
market conditions, lower operating costs and achieve a single view
of customer information, leading to more personalised banking
products and services for consumers.
The BCOEs are based on IBM’s System z mainframe technology.
