Unisys is to distribute 28,000 security tokens to staff
to help protect its network and buildings.
Unisys is using eTokens supplied by Aladdin Knowledge Systems,
and they will eventually be carried by staff at 300 of the
company’s sites worldwide.
About the size of a credit card, the cards will allow staff to
gain access to offices, while also allowing them to complete a
Windows-based network log-in.
John Frymier, director of information security at Unisys, said,
“Convenience, performance, seamless integration and ease of use are
critical, since thousands of employees with digital credentials
will use them to enter a Unisys facility and log on to the
network.
“This integrated solution maximises the use of smartcard
technology, creating a streamlined tool that provides a simple and
consistent layer of security,” said Frymier.
