Computacenter has signed a
five-year outsourcing deal to provide desktop services and product
supply to BT across 54 countries.
The BT contract, the value of which has not been revealed, is
the largest ever services contract won by Computacenter.
Under the contract, Computacenter will take responsibility for
fulfilment, support and related services for BT's 112,000 global
desktops.
Cost savings are a key component of the agreement, with
Computacenter committed to delivering year on year cost
reductions.
This will be achieved in part by Computacenter buying back most
of the current BT desktop/laptop estate and providing BT with a
single monthly charge for products and services.
This approach will help deliver a managed technology refresh
programme to BT. BT will also benefit from Computacenter’s
Shared Services Factory (SSF) operating
model.
SSF is designed to remove complexity, ensure best practice and
embed quality improvement. SSF captures key elements of the most
successful projects and uses them to create a flexible set of
standards that can be applied consistently across future
initiatives.
