The University of Southampton has awarded
Northgate HR a five-year £560,000 contract for
its ResourceLink integrated HR, payroll and pensions solution to
improve operations.
ResourceLink will modernise current HR, payroll and pension
administration processes at Southampton, when it replaces the
university’s ageing HR and payroll system in August 2007.
In addition to the core system, the university will also benefit
from the provision of distributed system access, manager and
employee self service, single data entry and enhanced
reporting.
The university’s 5,000-plus employees will have access to the
system to maintain personal records and view forms such as their
payslips.
Managers will be able to manage their teams by viewing and
authorising changes to the employee’s records, as well as
administering areas such as holiday, absence and training
requests.
Tony Strike, Southampton director of HR, said, “We hope to forge
a genuine partnership with Northgate HR to increase the strategic
impact of HR at the university. Our aim is to help improve
processes and reduce administration so HR staff can concentrate on
recruiting and retaining the best staff and students.”
