Microsoft chairmanBill Gates and
chancellor Gordon Brown are to take part in a Q&A at this
week’s Microsoft Government Leaders Forum Europe, being held at
theScottish Parliament in
Edinburgh.
The conference, attended by government leaders and ministers
from across Europe, started yesterday (Tuesday), and Brown and
Gates will take part in proceedings today (Wednesday).
The conference coincides with this week’s launch of Windows
Vista, and Brown may face questions as to what his attitude is to
the new OS.
While prime minister Tony Blair is known as a technophobe, Brown
will have the chance to convince attendees that he is more
technology friendly.
The Scottish Parliament’s presiding officer George Reid MSP said
he hoped for an “enlightening experience” at the conference, which
is organised and sponsored by Microsoft.
