Virgin Radio has improved
download speeds and website performance with new traffic management
appliances from supplier F5 Networks.
Mark Bodenham, Virgin Radio technical operations manager, said
the existing load-balancing appliances would not have been able to
cope with the surge in traffic volumes experienced since Virgin
Radio launched new social networking and blogging services.
F5's Big-IP Local Traffic Manager ensures high availability and
secure delivery of Windows Media Server and audio services,
resulting in quicker download speeds of online content for the
listener.
