The shortlist of leading candidates in Computer Weekly's Best Places to Work in IT 2007 awards is revealed.
Organisations representing a cross section of business, industry and the public sector are contending for awards which recognise the investment employers are making in their IT staff. They will be presented in London on 2 March.
The competition, now in its fifth year, highlights best practice in staff development and training, work/life balance, and creating a positive working environment.
This year, judges were impressed by the steps many employers are taking to help their staff juggle work and family commitments. Employers are also putting more effort into developing the "soft" management-focused skills of their workforce, which are increasingly becoming part of IT roles.
