Unisys has signed a worldwide IT
outsourcing contract with Germany-based BSN Medical, an
international provider of medical products for wound care,
orthopedics and phlebology.
Under the five-year $35m (£18.5m) deal, Unisys will provide BSN
Medical with a suite of IT services to enable the company to
implement a global integrated IT infrastructure.
Unisys will provide the company with outsourcing services at 35
locations worldwide, supporting 3,500 BSN Medical staff.
Services will include SAP and non-SAP systems, wide area and
local area networking, and messaging. Unisys will also provide
desktop services and a user helpdesk.
“The next logical step in our company’s growth strategy is
standardising and extending our IT infrastructure,” said Reinhard
Quante, CIO of BSN Medical. “Our international goals require an IT
services partner with a global presence deploying our IT standards
worldwide, and with dedication to local service delivery.”
Unisys will gradually assume responsibility for operating BSN
Medical’s IT infrastructure throughout 2007.
