Barclayshas
hired Mark Saunders as its senior technology officer for business
banking and global payments as the bank continues to overhaul its
IT leadership team.
Saunders, who joined this week, reports to Don Trotta, Barclays’
chief information officer.
Saunders will be responsible for overseeing the execution of IT
strategy and delivery within business banking and global
payments.
He joins from Bank of Montreal Financial Group, where he held
senior vice-president positions in enterprise infrastructure and
application development. Prior to that, he worked in senior IT
delivery roles at Manulife Financial.
Trotta said, “I am delighted to welcome Mark to Barclays. His
track record for delivering IT solutions and his knowledge of the
financial sector will prove invaluable to lead and support the
ongoing development of our business banking and global payments IT
capability.”
