Eton College is working with
Extreme Networks to install a Gigabit Ethernet
data networking infrastructure.
The 560-year-old public school said the upgrade was necessary to
support 100mbps connections to its desktops and to provide a
foundation for its future plans, including IP telephony and a
strategy for personalised learning. The network will also give the
school the flexibility necessary to control access to its local
area network, which covers 400 buildings.
The infrastructure will be monitored remotely and supported by
IT services company Data Integration.
