The Communications Management Association has
appointed Carolyn Kimber its new chairman.
Kimber said she intended to make the organisation more inclusive
for all communications professionals throughout enterprises.
She also said she would work closely with comms regulator Ofcom
to make sure the needs of the business user became a priority.
Kimber is chairman for a two-year period, and succeeds outgoing
chairman Phil Sayer, who has completed his term of office.
A CMA member since 1988, Kimber was a trustee for six years from
1999. She was previously elected CMA chairman for a period of three
years, standing down at the beginning of 2005.
Kimber is director of Women in Telecommunications and Technology
(WiTT) and an elected member of the Parliamentary IT Committee
(Pitcom).
CMA members are responsible for a combined direct annual spend
on information and communications technologies of £11bn.
