Product lifecyle management software supplier UGS has
published the JT data format, paving the way for a common 3D
language for global manufacturers to seamlessly share and retain 3D
product data.
JT was developed 10 years ago as a lightweight alternative data
format for viewing large Cad files, and now supports product
visualisation, collaboration and manufacturing.
DaimlerChrysler said it would use JT as its 3D master format to
digitally represent products in lifecycle workflows.
