SkypeandNokiahave announced a joint collaboration on wireless
connectivity at this week’s CES conference in Las
Vegas.
The Skype voice over IP product will soon be available on
Nokia’s new N800 Internet Tablet device, launched at the CES

The pair said the offering would make the familiar desktop Skype

connection.
The Skype-enabled N800 tablet is both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
short-range wireless compatible.
Skype has 136 million registered users, a market Nokia is keen
to tap into with its devices.
Eric Lagier, Skype director for business development for
hardware and mobile, said, “Working with the leading mobile-handset
manufacturer puts us in a unique position to get Skype to the
mobile masses. The Nokia N800 is an excellent platform for taking
Skype conversations beyond the PC.”
The first Skype implementation on the Nokia N800 is expected to be
made available for download by the end of the first half of 2007,
said the pair.
