Oracle has introduced new pricing models to simplify the
way users pay for its JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, Siebel and Oracle
E-Business Suite products.
Oracle said the Component Model is “a simple a la carte” plan
that offers on demand, or utility-based pricing. The Custom
Application Suite Model offers the ability to create custom bundles
based on specific business needs.
The Enterprise Applications Model sets prices based on specific
metrics, such as a firm’s annual revenue, and it offers unlimited
use of applications. There is also an SMB Model, targeted at small
and medium-sized businesses.
“We are combining the best of Oracle, PeopleSoft, Siebel and JD
Edwards licensing programmes to provide our customers with a
variety of flexible licensing models from which to choose,” said
Jacqueline Woods, vice-president for global pricing and licensing
strategy at Oracle.
Users can purchase software using the new pricing models or
previous licensing models when purchasing additional products from
old price lists. Newly released products will be offered under the
new pricing models.
