Computacenter expands services division with £28m acquisition

Thursday 04 January 2007 02:05

Computacenter Services has enhanced its datacentre, remote services and application management offering with the £28m acquisition of Digica.

Digica is a specialist in IT infrastructure management and application services for medium-sized public and private sector organisations.

The acquisition complements Computacenter’s historical focus on IT managed services to larger organisations.

Digica provides datacentre managed services and SAP/Oracle application services from purpose built datacentres in Nottingham, Warrington, Leeds and an off-shore centre in Cape Town, South Africa.

The addition of a remote management facility in Cape Town builds on Computacenter Services’ purpose-built service desk in Barcelona. This provides the firm with a stronger international service delivery model, said the outsourcer.

The cash acquisition is costing £15.9m, plus the settlement of £12.1m in Digica debts.

Digica will continue to operate as an entity and the brand will be retained, said Computacenter.
