AMD will be allowed to collect evidence about events outside the US for its ongoing antitrust lawsuit against Intel.
AMD has won a preliminary court battle over evidence collection against Intel.
AMD is alleging that Intel used its dominant market position to illegally squeeze it in the microprocessor market. The full US lawsuit isn’t expected to reach a court room until early 2009.
Intel had argued against the collection of evidence for activities outside the US, but an official for the court dealing with the case said foreign evidence discovery should be allowed.
The court is expected to conduct the next preliminary hearing into the case on 12 January.
