Webroot Software has announced Webroot SME Security software, which is designed to protect SMBs from spyware and viruses.

Webroot SME Security combines anti-virus technology from Sophos with anti-spyware protection of Webroot Spy Sweeper. The result, says Webroot, is a standard of protection that offers SMB customers the best value and ensures they maintain business continuity and productivity.

Backed by Webroot’s in-house customer support team, Webroot SME Security installs as a single desktop agent with no further configuration required during setup. Furthermore, the anti-virus component of Webroot SME Security is enabled by default and the results can be viewed and controlled through Webroot’s management console; it also has the flexibility to add more users and locations through the unique distributor framework. Up-to-date protection is provided through frequent distribution of spyware and virus definition and new definition updates are distributed many times every day.
