Gas supplier cuts manual payments with automated reconciliations

Tuesday 12 December 2006 02:03

Gas cylinder supplier Calor Gas has selected Trintech's Reconnet product to automate its payment reconciliations.

Calor Gas is the UK's leading supplier of liquefied petroleum gas, supplying four million homes and businesses from 10,000 UK outlets.

The gas company will use the software to automate a previously labour-intensive manual process in a bid to improve processing efficiency and reduce the risk of error. The firm will be able to carry out detailed daily reconciliation of cash, cheque and credit card payments to identify transaction errors and mismatches much more efficiently.

Calor’s finance director, Geert Gyselinck, said, “We wanted to eliminate time-intensive manual processes through automation and benefit from daily, rather than monthly, reconciliation.”

Trintech's Reconnet met Calor’s immediate requirements but also offered scalability to handle future expansion of the business, Gyselinck added.
