Information Builders creates chemical reaction

Information Builders’ ability to work with SAP has won it a contract to provide business intelligence tools to chemical and food additive company Veliscol Chemical.

Veliscol’s need for a reporting tool that could work with its SAP R/3 ERP software led it to WebFocus. Trials proved this was the only tool that didn’t have a problem with obtaining field descriptions from the SAP tables and using SAP security rules.

“We believe WebFocus will be as pervasive as the SAP software itself, as we enhance reporting and information management activities throughout the enterprise,” says Lee Goodrich, senior business systems analyst at Veliscol.

Veliscol was forced to look for a new solution after its previous tool’s lack of drill-down capabilities and rigid rules were stopping users finding the information they needed.

WebFocus’s flexible licensing arrangements also make it easier for the company to expand usage of the software to key groups of users.
