Customers of Yorkshire Building Society are being targeted with spoof phishing emails which attempt to gather confidential bank details, Websense has warned.
The e-mail messages claim that the account has been accessed by a foreign IP address, and that unless online information is verified, the account will be temporarily suspended.
The e-mail provides a link to a phishing site, hosted in the USA, that attempts to collect personal information from the recipient.
The e-mail, which contains a number of spelling mistakes, claims that, unless the recipient takes action, their bank account could be inaccessible for upto 72 hours.
