Vodafone has announced details of its new fixed-line broadband package for its mobile contract customers.
The service, provided using BT’s wholesale broadband infrastructure, costs £25 a month, including line rental. For that, customers get an 8Mbps connection, free 24-hour support, free landline voice calls and 25% off mobile calls.
For an extra £4 a month, users can also surf on Vodafone’s 3G mobile network while away from home with their laptop.
The cheapest BT broadband service is currently £17.99 for an 8Mbps connection but users also have to pay for a separate line rental, which makes the package more expensive than Vodafone's.
The Vodafone at Home broadband package will be available to consumer mobile contract customers from 8 January.
