Systems integrator Logicalis is offering new and
existing users subsidised environmental training through Global
Action Plan, an independent charity that specialises in helping
businesses and individuals to go green.
Chris Gabriel, Logicalis head of solutions, said the Logicalis
Responsibility Squared programme was a shortened version of
Global’s year-long consultancy service.
“We were finding that among our customers green computing is
high on the agenda for cost reasons, but when we spoke to the IT
guys there was a lack of awareness of it.”
Gabriel added that the scheme would help the IT department to
make the business and cost case for using IT best practices and
environmentally friendly technologies such as virtualisation.
Responsibility Squared is available now, with several
universities and a couple of private sector companies already
signed up to the offer, according to Gabriel.
