Elopak, inventor of the first paperboard carton, has
selected Verizon Business to provide a managed private IP network
linking 40 offices worldwide.
The company is seeking to increase the cost-efficiency of its
network by 25% by consolidating its communications infrastructure
onto a single managed platform. It also wants to improve the
reliability of the service.
Elopak’s corporate IT director Bjørn Moshuus said, “Elopak has
sites in three continents, and communications has been challenging
for us due to poor reliability, cost and lack of coverage.
“Verizon Business' global IP reach has given us a reliable and
secure connection, which enables us to focus on our business. All
our workers can now benefit from the same high-quality
connectivity, whether they are remote mobile workers or located
within our sites.”
The packaging giant employs more than 2,500 people who rely on
applications and communications tools hosted on Elopak’s hubs in
Norway and North America.
Verizon has provided Elopak with a variety of access routes to
these hubs - with DSL connections to the packaging firm’s smaller
sites and high bandwidth Ethernet and fibre for the larger ones -
tailoring the network to the varying demand levels and budgets of
the different sites.
