IT directors have been warned to review their data
security after Indian police arrested a man based on evidence
broadcast in a Channel 4 programme that investigated security
failures in overseas call centres.
However, according to research from PricewaterhouseCoopers for
the Department of Trade & Industry, data security problems are
still an acute problem in UK-based organisations.
The DTI's latest Information Security Breaches Survey found that
half of all UK retail and utility companies do not have procedures
in place to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act.
