East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Hertfordshire County
Council and West Lothian Community Health & Care Partnership
have been selected as finalists for the 2006 Local Government IT
Excellence Awards.
The awards, organised by the local authority IT managers’
organisation SOCITM and sponsored by Computer Weekly, highlight the
use of best practice in public services.
The winner will be announced at the Socitm Annual Conference in
Harrogate on 3 October 2006.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s project was selected for its
innovative approach to improving customer access, usability and
efficiency of the management of all events, facilities and
activities in the Council’s venues.
Hertfordshire County Council’s work on the nationally sponsored
eAdmissions to schools project was chosen because it involved
delivering a new e-service across 150 local authorities in
England.
West Lothian Community Health and Care Partnership was
shortlisted for its C-me application, which was developed to
improve the delivery of services to the children of West Lothian
through the development of a shared information system between West
Lothian Council Social Services, NHS Lothian, West Lothian
Education Schools and Services, Lothian and Borders Police and the
Scottish Children's Reporters Office.
