The worldwide enterprise router and switch markets are
showing steady growth this year.
Analyst Infonetics Research says both markets saw 2% growth in
the second quarter when compared to the first quarter of this
year.
The enterprise router market was worth $1.07bn (£594m) in the
second quarter, while the worldwide Ethernet switch market was
worth $3.7bn.
Matthias Machowinski, an analyst at Infonetics Research, said,
“This year is shaping up to be another successful year, with many
segments growing in the double-digits.”
Infonetics said Cisco continued to lead the total enterprise
router market with nearly 75% of worldwide revenue. Huawei was
second, with Juniper in third place.
About 40% of enterprise router sales were in North America, 35%
in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region, and 19% came
from the Asia Pacific region.
