Cambridge city council has signed a £6m five-year deal
with Serco Solutions to provide and support its IT
infrastructure.
The deal extends an existing six-year contract with Serco and
will cover the council’s desktop machines, servers, telephony,
network services and business applications used by 900 staff across
the local authority.
Under the contract, Serco will provide 24-hour support from its
shared services centre in Birmingham. The contract is also expected
to release efficiency savings to help the council meet its Gershon
efficiency targets.
Council chief executive Rob Hammond said, “We were thoroughly
impressed with Serco Solutions’ commitment to Cambridge city
council and their proposals for the renewed contract.
“Serco Solutions has a strong understanding of our needs and
this contract will contribute to long term savings and meeting
Gershon targets.”
