The government's Service Transformation Board has been
transformed into the Delivery Council.
The move, by new government CIO John Suffolk, is an attempt to
speed the restructure of government departments and quicken the
delivery of new government services.
The government published its Transformational Government
strategy last November, and the creation of the Service
Transformation Board was one of the key features in the
strategy.
The Service Transformation Board had the responsibility to set
operational strategies and establish policy frameworks across
central government.
The newly established Delivery Council mirrors the CIO council
but it contains all the key civil servants from across government
departments who are responsible for the government’s major service
delivery programmes.
The Delivery Council has already met for the first time.
