Online recruitment firm The IT Job Board has launched a
skill-specific site for SMEs that serves the SAP
community.
Sponsored by SAP users including Atos Origin, Axon, IBM and
LogicaCMG, the SAP Job Board is available in English, French,
German and Dutch and brings together SAP candidates with SME
employers struggling to fill positions in this niche market.
The IT Job Board asserts that managing SAP’s enterprise software
applications requires bespoke training, which is not undertaken by
most IT professionals. The resulting shortage of SAP expertise,
says the firm, makes it difficult for organisations to recruit
these complex skills and it adds that this problem will become more
acute as SAP extends its reach beyond its traditional base of large
customers and targets the mid-range market with products such as
mySAP.
SAP professionals, including The IT Job Board’s 38,000 existing
SAP-specific candidates, will be registered on a database that aims
to provide SME employers with search and targeting capabilities. In
addition, the SAP Job Board will offer SMEs guidelines on
attracting high-calibre staff in what is a very competitive market.
The objective is to streamline the overall process through careful
matching of criteria specified by both organisations and
candidates.
Ray Duggins, managing director of The IT Job Board says, “The SAP
Job Board is a serious commitment to the whole SAP community. It
will cut down the time-consuming, frustrating and often fruitless
search that is inflicted on the HR department of organisations
needing this skill as well as help [SMEs] now deploying SAP
technology find the IT staff they require.”
