Orange offers business broadband service
Orange has introduced a business broadband service for companies
that support remote working. The 8mbps broadband service is
designed for users working from home and provides companies with a
single bill.
D-Link releases next Ethernet switch
D-Link has launched its next generation of Web Smart Ethernet
switches. Aimed at small and medium-sized businesses, the
semi-switch offers support for Simple Network Management Protocol
and a security engine.
Nokia and Siemens to link for network kit
Nokia and Siemens are preparing to merge their mobile and
fixed-line phone network equipment businesses. The firms said the
company would have “a world-class fixed mobile convergence
capability and a deep presence in both developed and emerging
markets”.
Cherry helps lower roaming mobile charges
International mobile company Cherry Telecommunications has
developed Sim card technology that can reduce the cost of
international mobile calls. Low-cost standard rate calls are made
across various local networks and lock on to the strongest network
signal to boost call quality. Cherry is based in Glasgow.
Callxpress gains Avaya suppport
Applied Voice & Speech Technologies has updated its
Callxpress software, to includes support for Avaya’s technology.
The product now emulates the Avaya Intuity AUDIX user interface,
joining previous support for Octel Aria, Octel Serenade and Mitel
NuPoint with Centigram interfaces. The new version is designed to
support enterprise-size companies who want to replace their first
generation infrastructure, AVST said.
