Users and suppliers of outsourcing services will gather
at London’s Business Design Centre on 12-13 July 2006 to address
the issues surrounding the topic.
The Outsource World conference and exhibition will also be
attended by government officials from countries offering
outsourcing services, including India, China, Russia, Romania,
Malta, Czech republic and the Ukraine.
One focus will be on outsourcing by small and medium-sized
enterprises. Practical advice will be available from current and
former IT directors, who will be sharing their experience of
outsourcing.
Richard Sykes, former vice-president of global IT at ICI, will
kick off the conference with an overview of global business
services. And English Heritage’s ICT director Mike McElwee will
discuss his experiences of outsourcing the IT of a large number of
small locations throughout England.
The RAC’s Jon Aries is teaming up with Julian Howison, managing
director of consultancy Ark Group to talk about smart partnering
and offshoring, while Centrica deputy chief technology officer
Terry Boyland will look at the hidden costs.
The legal and security considerations of outsourcing will be
addressed by David Barrett, partner at law firm Simmons &
Simmons, IT lawyer Rachael Burnett, and Richard Starnes, president
of the Information Systems Security Association UK.
