NeoPath Networks, a provider of file storage
virtualisation systems, has received £5.8m in a funding round that
included participation by Cisco Systems.
NeoPath says it will use the funds to continue its customer and
partner growth, and to further enhance its products to meet the
demands of its customer base.
"Organisations are increasingly recognising the benefits of
deploying file storage virtualisation solutions," says Tony Asaro,
senior analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group.
"It offers a way for system administrators to simplify the
complexities of managing shared resources and file systems without
disrupting the user/workflow experience. File storage
virtualisation has the potential to change the dynamics of how
companies implement networked storage."
NeoPath provides technology for optimising file storage
management. The company’s File Director products are used by
customers in the ISP, ASP, financial services, government,
aerospace and manufacturing industries. The company says that IT
professionals can use NeoPath products to perform painless data
migrations, implement intelligent storage tiering, and establish a
unified namespace for non-disruptive storage aggregation.
