Juniper Networks aims to speed up Wan
products
Juniper Networks plans to build application acceleration
technology into its wide area network products in an 18-month
project called Enterprise Infranet. The products will be able to
download certification keys that allow encrypted network traffic to
be decoded then compressed to improve the speed at which the data
packets can be transmitted.
Nortel adds protection to application
switch
Nortel has built an application switch that features Symantec’s
Intelligent Network Protection technologies, including a security
inspection engine, automatic real-time threat protection updates
and security content updates.
Microsoft to demo virtual application
management
This week at the WinHec developer conference, Microsoft is
expected to demonstrate hypervisor software that can run virtual
applications, allowing them to be managed centrally and delivered
over a network to desktop machines.
Fujitsu Services to offer enterprise VoIP
service
Fujitsu Services is to launch a voice over IP service for medium
to large companies. It will cost £21 per user per calendar month
along with a monthly handset charge of £4 to £15 and an
installation fee of £25 per desk.
