British Energy has signed a multi-million pound deal
with IBM to deploy a new supply chain strategy.
The UK’s biggest electricity generator has signed a “multi-year”
agreement with IBM, which will see Big Blue work with various
suppliers to design and build a new supply chain that will save the
utility money.
British Energy is aiming to improve supply chain performance
across its eight nuclear stations and one coal-fired power station
is has in the UK.
The contract will address supplier performance, safety, and
business process improvements.
IBM already has an existing management contract with British
Energy, which was signed in 2004.
John Sexton, head of British Energy’s supply chain, said,
“British Energy has already achieved a great deal under the
existing agreement with IBM, and our continued relationship will
help us to provide a best-in-class supply chain service to all
business customers.”
