Microsoft and business performance management firm
Hyperion have announced plans to integrate their business
intelligence products and improve their
interoperability.
Business users will be able to combine reports and data from
Hyperion and Microsoft data sources into a single view, using their
preferred delivery and analysis tools.
The move is the latest in a string of tie-ups between Microsoft
and enterprise software firms.
In January, Microsoft issued free software giving access to
Siebel customer information platforms via the Outlook e-mail
program, while Mendocino – which will allow users to access data
from SAP business applications through Microsoft’s Office suite –
is set to be released on Friday.
The collaboration with Hyperion will include four initiatives to
integrate Microsoft’s SQL Server 2005 technology – including its
reporting, analysis and integration services – with Hyperion’s
System 9 BI+.
Robert Bernard, general manager of the global ISV group at
Microsoft, said, “We continue to hear from customers that the need
for increased interoperability is significant in making the most of
existing IT investments.
“Hyperion is a leader in business performance management, and
we're looking forward to the opportunities this collaboration will
bring to enterprise customers.”
