How to deal effectively with strategic supplier
relationships will be the subject of a conference on 11 May at the
Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Identifying Strategic Suppliers and Managing Effective
Relationships is organised by the Strategic Supplier Relationships
Group (SSRG), a consortium of 11 user-focused organisations.
Referring to the issues the conference will address, David
Clayden, conference organiser and chairman of the Charities
Consortium IT Directors Group, said, “Relationships with key
suppliers have become more complex through changes in the supplier
landscape, the increasing complexity of marketing plans and the
rapid introduction of technology.
“Some suppliers providing key products and services to our
organisations have become truly critical to our business, but how
can we identify these strategic suppliers and deal with them
effectively? What best practice approaches can we adopt and which
tools can we use to ensure that we can work effectively with
suppliers in the long term?”
Speakers include Nigel Caldwell, research officer at the Centre
for Research in Strategic Purchasing & Supply, IT lawyer Rachel
Burnett, David Sharp of the Institute of Arbitrators, and Ray
Titcombe, chairman of the SSRG and chairman of the IBM Computer
Users Association.
