According to a survey by IDC, worldwide IT consulting
including IT strategy, assessment and planning, governance and
product guidance will rise 5.2% between now and 2010. Europe will
gradually overtake the US as the largest market for IT consulting
spending by 2009.
A combination of greater business growth, the continued bundling of
IT consulting with outsourcing and price stabilisation are fuelling
this change in the industry’s fortunes.
“After a somewhat prolonged period of stagnation, the IT consulting
services market has clearly seen a return to many positive trends,”
says Bo Di Muccio, programme manager for consulting services
research at IDC.
