Grid-Tools has released version 1.9 of its database test
tool, GT Datamaker.
The new version gives software testers the ability for standard
test cases to be "inherited", allowing them to be used as the basis
for more specific test cases, saving considerable time during
testing, the company said.
The tool supports DB2 and MySQL, adding to the existing support
for Oracle, SQL Server and Sybase.
GT Datamaker is designed to create data automatically to aid
testing of complex database applications.
It is able to create data or create anonymous production data,
cleansing it of personal and confidential information to ensure
compliance with legislation such as the Data Protection Act and the
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
Existing users of Grid-Tools software include government and
financial institutions where there are strict rules on data
privacy.
