Women’s clothes chain New Look has hired Accenture to
develop and manage its supply chain in a ten-year £23m
deal.
Covering core trading, supply chain and retail operations
systems, the deal is an extension to an existing multi-year IT
services agreement between the two companies.
Under the new contract, Accenture will develop and manage systems
that will support New Look’s drive to reduce costs and enhance
productivity in merchandising and distribution.
Accenture will be responsible for all related applications
development, applications management and IT operations that are
linked to New Look’s Oracle Retail suite.
In addition, Accenture will manage the migration to a new
technology platform that will be integrated with the retailer’s
automated distribution centre in Lymedale, Staffordshire.
This new platform will help decrease costs and support New
Look’s growth plans, which include expansion in mainland
Europe.
Adrian Thompson, director of IT at New Look, said the new contract
followed “a successful New Look business transformation, including
a new European distribution centre and new stores in France and
Belgium.”
New Look has over 550 stores in the UK, over 40 in Ireland, and
240 in France trading as MIM.
