Software provider Collax is offering Kaspersky Lab’s
anti-virus engine as an optional module for the Collax Business
Server.
Available immediately, Collax Virus Protection will protect the
Collax Business Server’s web, mail and file servers from all kinds
of malware such as viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, porn ware,
adware and diallers.
The anti-virus engine repairs or deletes infected objects, or moves
suspicious objects to a quarantine folder for further analysis. All
web traffic is checked for viruses in real time. This applies to
opening web page pictures, as well as file downloads from the
internet. The protection offered to the file server includes
checking file systems, removable drives and individual files for
malware. Virus signatures are updated on request or according to a
pre-set schedule; the Kaspersky databases are updated hourly.
The module is based on an annual subscription pricing system that
covers signature updates (and updates to the anti-virus engine
itself) and is determined by company size. Six graded versions are
available.
For companies with 10 monitor workstations, Collax Virus Protection
will cost £256 per year; the price for up to 25 users is £553; for
up to 50 users £830; for up to 100 users £1,484 and for up to 250
workstations £3,115. The price for companies with over 250 users is
available on request
A customer who decides to conclude a three-year contract at the
outset will pay double the price of a one-year contract - a saving
of 33% when compared with the annual subscription.
